The fundamental purpose of the José Leal Foundation is to open doors for those young people who feel God's call to pastoral ministry but lack the necessary resources to access an academic formation. Through scholarships, spiritual guidance, and practical support, we seek to help them overcome economic and educational barriers, enabling them to fulfill their divine calling and become pastors committed to God's work.

Participate in a virtual interview with our scholarship committee to discuss your calling, vision, and commitment to pastoral ministry.
Regular mentoring sessions and academic progress reviews ensure you stay on track throughout your theological education journey.
Continuous pastoral mentoring, peer support network, and resources to help you succeed in your ministry calling beyond graduation.

Written evidence of a life of integrity, with a description of how the candidate has been involved in serving the church and the community for the past 12 months.
The candidate needs to describe in detail how he/she came to a personal encounter with Christ and how he/she experienced conversion and a new birth to Christianity.
Letter of acceptance at one of the following university institutions:
The candidate will describe on a full page his/her Ministry Call and Vision. The why he/she has chosen to become a Seventh-day Adventist Christian pastor.
Partial or total enrollment coverage for your theological education.
Partial or total coverage of study materials including books and digital resources.
Personal pastoral mentoring throughout your entire program duration.
Access to a support network with other fellows and experienced ministry leaders.
Complete the comprehensive online form with personal and ministerial data.
Provide a letter of recommendation from your local pastor.
Write a detailed essay titled "My Ministry Call and Vision."
Participate in a virtual interview with our scholarship committee.
Selection based on vocation, commitment, and financial need assessment.
